Even though I literally feed giants on a daily basis because my giant family of giant kids is always, always eating…Feeding Giants is about a lot more than just my family’s daily reality or the name of a homeschooling blog. It is also a concept that we have been forming into a business for several years…and we are finally – FINALLY – after months of designing and prototyping and manufacturing and learning – aaaaallmost ready to release our first Feeding Giants product series. SO exciting!! However, before our big reveal and Etsy shop launch, I figured we should probably explain what this whole “feeding giants” concept is all about.
Have you ever seen one of those truck-size pumpkins?
Every one of them began as a seed no bigger than any other seed for any other pumpkin. But its potential to be a giant was within it…with a little water, some dirt, and a whole lot of sunshine, it became what it was destined to be. We believe that each human being also has greatness within them – and with the right nourishment, can grow into their potential, too.
Look carefully at the kids in your life…their funny, genius little comments, their insightful perspective, their special talents and interests…
They are giants.
Every single one.
Giant minds.
Giant spirits.
Giant potential.
As parents and professionally trained educators, we feel that our purpose in life is to help others – especially children – find their unique talents, abilities, and contribution to the world…and to help YOU -other parents and teachers- do the same. We believe it requires purposeful effort to nourish children’s minds and spirits to reach their individual potential…but can be accomplished through small, daily means.
Our goals with Feeding Giants are to create beautiful, innovative products for families to use together, to share really doable ideas for home, family, and classroom, and to show you how we implement them in our own family (for better or worse!)…all in the hopes that we can help you nurture potential within your families and classrooms. We hope you will join us in trying to spread some good in the world by growing talented, intuitive, inquisitive, creative-thinking, confident, spiritual GIANTS in your life, too!
